The month of March in Sioux Falls has been interesting in the housing market. Inventory is low and demand from buyers is HIGH! According to RASE (Real Estate Association of the Sioux Empire) the number of new listings are down 3.6% compared to this same time last year. With so few homes to choose from, sellers are getting very close to, if not about, asking price when contracts are accepted. 157 homes were sold in the month of March in Sioux Falls and the average listing price for the month was $210,060 (as of March 29). Days on the market have hovered around that 100 day mark for the majority of price ranges. Lower range homes, under $150,000 are going much quicker with about 60 days on the market.
