Did you know Sioux Falls was called out on a national level at a locat conference in 2014 for being 1 of 3 major cities in the United States that does not have it's own city flag?
Winter Wonderland At Falls Park
Because nothing says Holiday Cheer like Christmas lights! And LOTS of them!
The City of Sioux Falls has once again set up a spectacular show at Falls Park. This annual attraction features Holiday music and a very spectacular light display. The dazzling light show started for the season on November 17th and will run nightly until January 7th. The switch flips at 5:00 PM each night and lights go out at midnight.
To decorate Falls Park, City of Sioux Falls staff utilize over 1 mile of garland, 400 wreaths, 270 decorated trees and shrubs, 275 decorated light poles, in excess of 25 miles of light strings, and a half mile of rope lighting. The city parks department spends approximately $115,000 each year to light the park during this time. To get the best view of the show, it is recommended to climb to the 5th story of the Visitor Information Center. Hours vary based on the day of the week.
